Press Release- March 11/ 2016 (Top 100 Art Contest)
African Arts Trust
The African Arts Trust is a funding body established to support the careers of emerging artists working on the African continent. Founded by Robert Devereux this Arts Charity provides support for African artists, through Arts bursaries and arts grants, to encourage a sustainable African Arts market.
The trust is based on years of frequent travel to Africa and the recognition that there is a wealth of artistic talent there, which is stifled by the lack of resources available locally to full time artists.
The International Gallery Of The Arts (IGOA) is proud to announce that a portion of the entry fees received for the Top 100 Open Art Contest was donated to helping the above cause. DEBRA KIRK: WINNER OF THE "TOP 40 OPEN" CRAFT CONTEST
ARTISAN: DEBRA KIRK
Title: Mardi Gras Kaleidoscope (Quilt) Medium: Textile
"As a child, a kaleidoscope held my attention for hours gazing at the patterns. I often tried to save a design to show my mom without great results.
I use fabrics, instead of pieces of glass and mirrors, to create a static versus an ever-changing symmetric design. My art is influenced by the art quilts of Paula Nadelstern, as well as her fabric designs. I want to take my sewing and quilt making skills to another level by capturing a moment in time reflected in my textile kaleidoscope patterns." Contact Debra Kirk: firstname.lastname@example.org
CHRISTOPHER REID: WINNER OF THE "TOP 100 OPEN" ART CONTEST
ARTIST: CHRISTOPHER REID
Title: Marina Reflection Medium: Pastel
" International fine artist working in pastel, acrylic, watercolor, & Charcoal painting portraits, figures, landscapes, wildlife, and plein air. I love finding the beauty in everyday life that people overlook and bringing it to their attention. An artist's eye is so much more amazing than a camera and I want to share my vision of the world with others." Contact: email@example.com
Our Largest Craft Exhibition!
This is a month of extravagance as both of our exhibitions made IGOA history for being the largest exhibits that we've ever hosted. Just like the Top 100 "Open" Art Contest, the Top 40 "Open" Craft Contest provided us with a great selection of quality and diverse craft work. We are so proud of the artisans that partook in this contest and we are ever proud to present their artistry to world.
The Top 40 "Open" Craft Exhibit includes a variety of artistic creations ranging from fashion to jewelry, bird houses, rugs, decorative bottles, quilts, light boxes, lamps and more.
The exhibit began on March 1st and is ongoing until March 31st.

Our Largest Fine Arts Exhibit!
This month we hosted our largest fine art exhibition to date. The Top 100 "Open" Art contest provided us with a very unique and diverse selection of work. We are grateful for the participation of all the contestants and honoured to display such wonderful talent.
The Top 100 "Open" Art Exhibition begun on March 1st and will conclude on the 31st. Though this was a Top 100 exhibition the response and quality of work was exceptional and therefore we chose to include 102 pieces instead of 100.
We send a special thanks to all of those who participated in my making history here at IGOA, as this is the first exhibition of this magnitude that we've ever hosted.
